2018 Mark Burlingame Dutchmen Spirit Award Winner

Laura Beth Mulligan is the 2018 Mark Burlingame Award winner

The Guilderland Lettermen Foundation’s 2018 Mark Burlingame Dutchmen Spirit Award winner is Laura Beth Mulligan.

The award is named in honor and memory of one of Guilderland’s all time greatest athletes. “Burls” excelled in soccer, track, basketball and especially baseball, where he played professionally in the Yankees organization. But it was through his kindness, character, positive spirit and loving nature that he touched all who knew him. The award in his name annually goes to a student-athlete who has demonstrated the highest qualities of true Dutch spirit and sportsmanship; a person who gives unselfishly of time and talents for the benefit of others. The award is chosen by the high school coaching staff.

Laura Beth is a three-time Board of Education award winner, which recognizes students who carry a 95+ average. She is a two-time captain for both indoor and outdoor track. Her leadership continues with her work in the community. Her volunteer work includes the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, four years of Key Club Service Projects, participation in Thirst Project Well Fund Raising and as a participant in the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. In the fall, Laura Beth will attend Union College.

The Guilderland Lettermen Foundation welcomes Laura Beth to the distinguished list of Mark Burlingame Dutchmen Spirt Award winners, which includes 2017 winner Hayley Kmack and 2016 honoree Andrew Sischo.
